The Penn Clash CLA2500 Spinning Reel is a really well built fishing reel and is being compared here with another high quality spinning reel, the Shimano Stradic 2500 FJ. The CLA2500 is constructed of aluminum with a carbon fiber rotor with a water resistant drag system putting out 12lbs of drag. Perfect for light inshore species along the north east targeting schoolies striper, blue fish, porgies, albies, fluke ,fresh water bass and crappie.
Great buy for less $150.

I own a 2500 an 2k clash. One of the best reel i got.
The shimano cranks smoother because it has felt drag washers? lols
sold all my shimano except saragosa. spinfisher v. lil heavy but not for pussys
great idea, when unable to choose between reels buy them all. I do that
I bought a coil for spinning in China, very good. http://ali.pub/m8aw1
I personally like Penn. 1: they’re American, 2: they’re decent priced. Yeah Shimanos are smooth and all but I don’t think they’re worth the money.
I love shimano! The reels are pretty decent the rods… Exceptional especially the light ones! I have a shimano sojourn rod and a sellus worm and jig rod both are great inshore! The only penn spinning reel I have, the penn fierce 7000 I use for beach fishing and offshore… Is better then all of my shimano ones! So I am selling two reels and getting a penn fierce 2 and battle2! I know I will be happy with my decision!
Nice Video. I’m a Penn guy myself but they both super nice reels. The Penn can be had for considerable less on ebay from my quick search.
You should never review a reel again. Extremely uninformative and dull. You didn’t talk about any of the important specs.
I have used alot of Shimano and Penn reels. The Penn Reels are a much better choice in my opinion….
after using them is there one you like better than the other?
