NEW CarbonLite 2.0 Rod review

Via Bass Pro website “looking for a competitive edge? Look no further than Bass Pro Shops® Johnny Morris CarbonLite™ 2.0 Casting Rod. They’re built with Carbon Coil Technology™, an advanced construction process that creates a double-helix configuration of materials for structural reinforcement. Made with RT4 Graphite, developed for the avid tournament angler, rod blanks are light and also very sensitive, so anglers can use them with confidence—even with a win on the line. Other features include a line ID system that allows anglers to keep track of and to easily identify the line weight used on each rod and reel setup. Fuji® FaZlite guides further enhance weight reduction. The CarbonLite 2.0 Casting Rod uses Winn® grips to deliver the ultimate in comfort, reducing stress in your hands and body leading to longer more accurate casts as the day goes on. A skeletonized Air reel seat improves sensitivity by maximizing blank exposure.”

The rods are engineered by Bass Pro Shops and made by Gary Loomis. They are ridiculously awesome rods for the money.

Would you recommend this rod or the Duckett Ghost rod? I’m thinking of getting one of the two to pair it up with my 13 fishing concept c reel.

ralph spoerl says:

Nice ved buddie our ever I just picked one up and my concern is the weight. There’s no mention of it anywhere. I compared it to my other diawa rods, it is much heavier. Nice rod but wt. is a factor.

Brandon Horn says:

Bought it 2 weeks ago

Gregory Jones says:

when the weathers turns for the better it would be nice to see a casting review of the JM carbonlite 2-0 (Medium heavy extra fast) rod married up with a MeTanium MGL reel. The objective here would be to document casting distances. this combo from a weight perspective without a shadow of a doubt has to be the lightest and strongest combo on the market! lets see what you come up with

Felix Ortiz says:

I was just watching reviews on rods and came across this video. I liked it, so I bought one and put my matanium on it. This is now my lightest set up.

Thanks for the review. I just purchased the 7 foot rod, medium heavy, fast action with a Bass Pro Qualifier 2 baitcast reel. Will use mostly in saltwater on the Louisiana coast to catch reds and trout. Is it a good sensitive rod?
