Richard Eunice says:

The Ugly Stik was the hottest thing going when they first came out back in the 70’s. I had a friend who fished the big tourneys and he was always getting new products to try out. He gave one of the original Ugly Stiks to me but the pot-head next door stole it.  I had it over 25 years.  I have owned a number of them and for the money they can not be beat. I just got another one today and plan to order a combo.

Anthony Reyes says:

I liked and subscribed! !!

Anthony Reyes says:

looking for a 2 rod setup for freshwater. what 2 uglystikgx2 should I buy?

Stanley Cook says:

Finally I find a video on this rod!! I been wanting to order a cheap but durable rod for my charter business and was uncertain wetter to choose the medium or medium heavy ,I’m wanting to pair the 6.5 with the Penn spin fisher 4500 for bottom fishing…what are your thoughts please? much appreciated in advance !

Outdoors Guy says:

ive got the 9ft spinning one of these rods and i havent gotten to use it but i think its rated for like 8-20lb line but got it paired with a penn pursuit 4000 and debating on line size prob go with 20lb line just so its all evenly paired maybe 30lb braid but i agree solid rods all around.

Buckeye in a yak says:

Great review! I’ve been fishing a 6’6″ med/heavy GX2 with a 3000 series spinning reel with 20lb braid for a year now, and its a great rod. I’m glad to hear you catch bull reds on yours. What size spinning reel would you recommend for that rod for bull reds?

This is one of my first rods.

GKAtascosa says:

These Rods are awesome. I have 2 6′ 1/2″ spin cast mated with a Penn 440 and Penn 450. 50 lb Power Pro braided line. I’ve caught bull reds, ling, even some King Mackerel on them. Save yourself a couple of bucks and just buy the rods..the reels are cheaply made and not made for salt water.

S. Stallone says:

What reel do you have on that bad boy?

Corey Cimilluca says:

should i use brain or mono line for shore fishing , and also what weight lime would you recomened? and how about shock leaders, the videos are great btw!

Corey Cimilluca says:

okay thanks , so how about what line should i use , for big lake fishing and some shore fishing in the carolinas?

MouLiG says:

I got a bass. Striped bass. Catfish. ETC. Haven’t broke my Ugly Stik yet. I really try to it its almost impossible. Its very reliable for big fish so it doesnt break

Narlee20 says:

All their rods are epic! Nice review!

Jonathan Blisd says:

Bro that’s a fresh water rod well that’s at least what I use then for

Bear Butter says:

can this MH ugly stik use lure 53gram to 70 gram ?

Jose Angel Ares says:

Hello from Spain,
Is the Ugly Stik rod in 7′ suitable and strong enough to lift up a 5 lb fish from a high pier?
Thank you very much.

matt jensen says:

what is your baitcaster and how much did it cost?

they are $60

Nancy_ lessard says:

Which is stronger the medium heavy or the medium???

degoek says:

i need a comventional rod and reel combo for a cod trip im doing this weekend is this a good setup for that fishing off a party boat

Danny Hudgins says:

Sick of high priced rods. I cant spend $100 anymore. Would this do the job for Bass Fishing?

Greg Stabler says:

Good review, I looked at one at Bass Pro and was worried because it was so lite but the big fish you showed eased my concerns.

Big O! says:

I just got one of those recently and keep it in my trunk at all times ready to go! I’m always close to the water here in Tampa Bay. I have a video on it on my page. Nice job!

Alex 77 says:

Why is it rated at 15lbs, if it can handle way more? Just curious, as I am new to fishing. It’s like they are doing a disservice to the product.

Cole B says:

I have one. Definitely would recommend the rod but, the Shakespeare’s reels have broken on me twice in about a year and a half on bass 1-3 pounds so if you buy an ugly stick just take the reel that comes with it and throw it in the trash lol
