Hey Ryan…………Ryan here….lol. The Name for that type of application on metal that your talking about on the seat knob is Knurling…..it’s usually done on a lathe! Some people love it and some hate it, I happen to like it.

These are great rods. I have two rods a 71 and a72 and there paired with tws zillions. With those reels the rods are very well balanced and the rods are very sensitive. I have one setup for weightless plastics which I can cast a mile and the other is setup for medium size squarebills and 3/8oz spinnerbaits. Have had the rods for three yrs now and are performing like new.
